120 ledare tränas i Strategisk Dialog

Sustainable Leadership by John P Milton @ WiLD.se

John P Milton honored us @ Naturakademin Learning Lab with a short visit in Stockholm, October 2010. We had a chance to record two speeches about Mindfulness in Nature and Sustainable Leadership. Welcome to log in to listen to this recordings at our WiLD film Chanel.

Sustainable Leadership

“The management system we have today is based on the notion that the world is predictable. But the world does not look like that. Companies must compete in an international market and will encounter many different perspectives out there. Just face it! Leaders work with a high degree of risk and must find decision processes to manage risk. They must manage multiple perspectives in a constructive way. That is what the model is based upon—Sustainable Leadership.”

”- Around 1990, I began looking for other ways of thinking. We were so linear in terms of strategy and processes, that my understanding was that people are afraid of change. So, I started thinking about the question: Is there a place in the world where there are people or cultures that do not fear but, in fact, embrace change and see it as a way of life? I found the North American Indians’ teaching wheel: the Medicine Wheel, which is based on the notion that everything goes in cycles. Things are constantly changing, and it is all about having a dynamic balance. Dynamic balance is the movement that creates balance – Göran Gennvi”.

David Abrams på besök i Stockholm

The Ecology of Perception and Language by Dr. David Abram, Friday November 5th, 2010
[youtube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12SJf7cGtdg]
David will talk about his research into the ecology of perception: how sensory perception binds our separate nervous systems into the encompassing ecosystem; how and why different cultures perceive the surrounding earth in very different ways; and on the ecology of language: the way in which our words, or what we say, profoundly influences what we see, or hear, or even taste of the more-than-human natural world around us.
David Abram is an ecologist, anthropologist, and philosopher who lectures widely around the world. He is the author of Becoming Animal: An Earthly Cosmology (just published by Pantheon Books) and The Spell of the Sensuous, for which he received many awards. His essays on the cultural causes and consequences of ecological turmoil have been published in numerous mag- azines, scholarly journals and anthologies. David is co-founder and director of the Alliance for Wild Ethics (AWE); he lives with his family in the foothills of the southern Rocky Mountains, US.

In memory of pathfinder, Chief Jake Swamp

img_0331

Se Jake i TV inslaget ifrån stockholmsskärgård 1998.

By Mr. Doug George-Kanentiio, Akwesasne Mohawk, editor, columnist, and author. Jake Swamp-Tekaronianeken, 68, the Wolf Clan Mohawk diplomat, author, teacher, chief, husband, father, grandparent and great-grandparent passed into the spirit world on October 14, 2010 at his home on the Akwesasne Mohawk Territory.
Swamp was a member of the Mohawk Nation Council of Chiefs for over three decades, a position in which he served as a counselor, spiritual leader, legislator and ambassador. He established the Tree of Peace Society in 1984 to promote the teachings of the Skennenrahowi (the Peacemaker) while advocating greater ecological awareness and sensitivity. Swamp planted hundreds of Peace Trees in many nations, an activity begun with the founding of the Confederacy. Through his example millions of trees have taken root around the world from Israel to Australia, Venezuela to Spain and in all regions of North America.

Swamp served as Mohawk Nation diplomat in many instances. He addressed the Fourth Russell Tribunal in the Netherlands, was a delegate to the United Nations, met with leaders of foreign nations and advised representatives from the US Congress and Canadian Parliament. He worked closely with scholars to have the US Senate pass a resolution acknowledging the influence of the Haudenosaunee (People of the Longhouse, or the Iroquois), on the US Constitution and thereby initiated a revolution in the understanding of American history. He was a delegate to two sessions of the World Parliament of Religions where he was affectionately called ”el jeffe”.

It is taught by the Haudenosaunee that whatever one does in life it is essential to leave things better than when they were found, to take into consideration the effect of one’s actions on the seventh generation into the future. Throughout his wonderful life Tekaronianeken abided by this principle. Through his books, his words and his actions he brought great honour to his family, his community, the Mohawk Nation and the Haudenosaunee.

Hållbart Ledarskap – Sustainable Leadership

(En Dag för Framtiden) On Sunday, August 29, 2010 the Tällberg Foundation offered a full day of conversations about the future – the event took place in Stockholm and was open to the public. Naturakademin presented two workshops with a broad, skillful and advanced audience. The theme was Sustainable Leadership. The feedback was very positive!

Sustainable Leadership as we se it has to take care of three areas;

- The personal level – to sustain one Self and stick to one’s inner vision as the driving force for one’s leadership,

- The organizational level – to sustain the group, organization, community, society that depends on one’s leadership,

- The Global level – all living beings on the planet that are effected by one’s decisions and leadership.

Göran Gennvi on Beyond Sustainability-The University of Colorado 10.07.10

This is an excellent reminder that all of our Business leaders, Government leaders and other thought leaders for our culture, must learn from nature. By surrendering our human arrogance and opening to the wisdom of the natural world, our decisions will be wiser and more creative. Goran Gennvi and John P. Milton, working together with the principles of The Way of Nature and Sacred Passage have a lot to offer our leaders! Providing a naturally centered ”rite of passage” is important for now!”
